I engaged Melvin from D4S after meeting with a few other IDs, and I’m really glad I chose him. From the start, Melvin was very detailed in planning the space. He listened to all my ideas, gave honest feedback on what was practical and what wasn’t, and suggested alternatives that worked even better. You can tell he has a lot of experience, and that was one of the main reasons I decided to go with him. The 3D renders were also a huge plus. They looked so realistic that all my friends were impressed, and the final result really turned out like the renders. Throughout the renovation, Melvin was patient, responsive, and always took the time to answer my questions. As this was my first renovation, I had plenty of doubts and misconceptions. He never tried to “smoke” me with vague answers and always explained things clearly until I understood. Near the end of the renovation, just before the cabinets were due to be installed, HDB’s HIP works suddenly had to start, which took almost two weeks out of the renovation timeline. Even with this unexpected delay, Melvin managed everything well and still handed over the house on the date we had agreed. After I moved in, whenever I noticed any defects, I just let him know and he was quick to arrange for his team to come down and rectify them. Overall, my first renovation experience was smooth and hassle-free. I’ve heard plenty of renovation horror stories from friends, so I’m really thankful mine wasn’t one of them.
